Bob Pettit, GOTC Color Commentator, Dies at 93

NBA star and Hall of Famer Bob Pettit, who did color commentary for the telecast of the Game of the Century, died on September 24, 2026 at age 93. Dick Enberg was the lead announcer on the telecast and wrote the following in his 2004 book Oh My!

With the GOTC having taken place 58+ years ago in 1968, there are relatively few major figures from it who are still alive. It is always sad to learn of each passing, whether of a player, coach, referee, announcer, or anyone else associated with the game.
